Get to Know Dr. Leslie P. Cooner
Dr. Cooner recently merged his solo dental practice with our Little Rock office in May of 2020, and his overall career in oral healthcare impressively spans well over 30 years. We couldn’t be happier to have him onboard! He enjoys providing his patients with a very personal experience in all aspects of general dentistry. If you’d like to learn more about him, just keep reading below.
Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?
Ever since he can remember, Dr. Cooner has wanted to be in the healthcare field. After shadowing several different specialties, he settled on dentistry because it allowed him to use both his social and artistic skills in equal measure. Today, he still feels entirely confident that he made the right decision all those years ago!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Dr. Cooner pursued his dental doctorate at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences School of Dentistry. Today, he has over 3,000 hours of continuing education under his belt and is a proud member of the American Dental Association and Arkansas State Dental Association. He’s also an adjunct faculty member at UAMS, where he offers assistance and training to general dentistry residents.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Cooner and his wife, Alice, have three grown children named Will, Thomas, and Caroline. Outside of working hours, one of his biggest passions is volunteering in the local community! He has spent countless years as a Boy Scout leader, a licensed volunteer soccer coach, the president/board member of a Little Rock Futbol Club, and the president/participant in the Catholic High School Booster Club.
As for personal hobbies, Dr. Cooner enjoys playing tennis, cycling, listening to rock and roll music, mastering crossword puzzles, boating on Greers Ferry Lake, following the Arkansas Razorbacks, and (of course) spending quality time with family and friends.
